Maddie continues to enjoy her music, art, and play classes at Gymboree and loves to rock it with Mr. Richard during his Music for Aardvarks classes. She's pretty "star-struck" when she sees him each week, but loves singing the silly songs and playing instruments with the other kiddos.
We went to the Festival of Trees again this year and Mommy was quite surprised that Maddie wasn't interested in the beautifully decorated trees. She loves looking at (and touching) our tree at home, but wasn't interested in the trees at the festival. Oh well... maybe next year!
Maddie's big news this month was she got her "Big Girl" bed. She (thankfully) had no trouble progressing from her crib into her big girl bed. In fact, she was very, very excited to sleep in her new bed and hasn't given her crib a second look! The MAJOR downside is that she has given up her nap :0( ! Unfortunately (for Maddie AND Mommy), she still desperately needs one but will not nap in her bed. Every once in a while she will nap on the couch, but those days are very few and far between. Needless to say, early bedtimes have become a must at the Hillman Home!
Maddie loved having Nana and Poppy down for a visit and took them to the Zoo and Monkey Joe's! Nana and Poppy had just as must fun as Maddie!!
We had a quiet Thanksgiving in Florida and visited Mickey and the gang the next day at the Magic Kingdom. We've enjoyed our other trips to the Disney parks, but this one was far and away our best day at the MK! Maddie is old enough to get excited about seeing the characters and is wowed by the park itself. Although she's still shy about being next to the life-sized characters, she would happily wave and smile from a safe distance. :0) She also really loved the rides and got quite upset when she had to get off of the Flying Magic Carpet ride!
