Fall weather???

As it slowly becomes less hot and humid (it was only in the mid-upper 80s last week... YAHOO!), Maddie and Mommy are going outside in the late afternoons to play. Maddie really enjoys being outside with all the sights and sounds. She laughs everytime a breeze blows through. :0)

In the 1st picture below, Maddie is sitting in the beautiful rocking chair painted by Mommy's cousin Maggie. Isn't it precious?!

Having fun...

Maddie is quite the little eater having tried (and liked) squash, pears, and peas. She made the funniest faces while trying the squash and pears, but didn't even blink the first time she tried the peas. (I, however, thought the peas were quite disgusting after trying them myself... don't tell Maddie!!)

She's been in the pool a few more times and really loves splashing. Maddie is now taking her baths in her blow-up duckie which she LOVES!! (Thank you, Aunt Marian!!) You'll be able to see the water covered mirror in the picture of Maddie in the duckie. Needless to say, she loves to splash in the duckie, too!

She seems to be showing us all the signs of teething, but hasn't popped her first tooth yet. She's drooling like crazy (but has been for about 2 months), chewing on EVERYTHING, and having some trouble staying asleep at night. Poor girl!!

Maddie loves moving her legs (bouncing, bouncing, bouncing) and still seems to be getting ready for the whole crawling thing. She gets frustrated as she reaches for a toy just beyond her little fingers. She can usually scoot forward, but hasn't gotten up on her knees yet. She sits very well and likes to play with toys while sitting. I still put the boppy behind her just in case of a flop over. Our tile floors make me nervous for her! I'm not looking forward to the falls as she begins to walk! Oh well... one step at a time!!

Squash!

Today Maddie had her first vegetable... squash. Although she ate all of the portions offered at breakfast and dinner, she made some FUNNY faces while trying this new taste. :0)

Madelyn Rose is 6 months old today!!!!

Swimming and stuff!!

Yesterday, Maddie took her first dip in our pool. Maddie and Mommy got "suited and lathered" up while Daddy snapped some pictures. Mommy floated Maddie on her belly and her back around the shallow end of the pool. Maddie also played and floated in her blow-up seahorse. She loved it!!!
















Maddie likes sitting in her new highchair. She also likes to "feed" herself with the spoon.
































Maddie (and Mommy) love to see Daddy after his long day at work. Maddie also likes to help Daddy with his work at night on the laptop!

Busy, busy Baby!

Maddie has had a busy past couple of weeks! :0) At the end of August, Maddie and Mommy spent a week visiting family in PA before Daddy joined them for a long weekend. We had a terrific visit, but there never seems to be quite enough time to see everyone and do everything we want to... oh well, isn't that life??

Maddie has recently discovered that she can make noise with her tongue so blowing raspberries is one of her new favorite things to do!! She really likes blowing raspberries after a nice big spoonful of cereal. :0) She's also started bringing her knees together and pushing her hindy in the air when she's on her belly. Maybe she's practicing for crawling?!?

The picture of Maddie in the white dress and bonnet is especially sentimental. The white dress was Mommy's dress as a baby and the bonnet was Nana's. The pink dress is just a pretty dress that Mommy bought at a fantastic clearance price. HA!
