Let's see... we've had lots of excitement around the Hillman Home lately. As I mentioned last week, Nana and Great Aunt Marian came to visit Maddie and were a TREMENDOUS help to me!! Then on Saturday (6/28), Maddie got to see her Aunt Jennifer again and meet her Uncle Dave and Cousins Erika and Mitchell! The Bates family spent Saturday afternoon with us before heading out to Disney for a vacation. We were so happy to have them visiting with us! On Sunday (6/29), Daddy and Mommy took Maddie to Portrait Innovations for her 3-month pictures. She was a very, very good baby. She was cooperative and pleasant the whole time we were there (and we were there for a good hour and a half). She wasn't as smiley as usual, but she doesn't seem to be when she's around people she doesn't know. And then... drumroll please... later Sunday afternoon Maddie rolled for the first time!! She rolled from her belly to her back while playing with Mommy on the floor. Mommy was very excited! She had been so close for several days and then in a blur of feet, she rolled. She's been rolling (belly to back) all week and still seems a little stunned each time she does it. She is teasingly close to rolling from her back to her belly (the harder of the two skills). Maddie has also "found" her toes and pushes herself up when she's on her belly.
On Wednesday (7/2), Maddie had her 4-month well baby check and immunizations. I was a little early taking her because I wanted to get it in before our trip to Pennsylvania. Maddie weighed 12 pounds, 11 ounces (almost double her birth weight) and was 25 inches long. Considering Matt and I are both short people, it cracks me up that Maddie is currently in the 90th percentile for height. CRAZY! We are very, very excited for our first trip "home" since November and for Maddie to meet some of her extended family members!!
